Job role
To provide medical support to French speaking crews who are based at small satellite 'fly camps' whilst working away from the main seismic survey base camp. The medic is responsible for basic clinical care, emergency medical response, health and hygiene standards, and First Aid training and other safety sessions for the crew. The tented site is very remote, with access only by helicopter, and there is no night time flying. Communications are limited, and there is no internet connection. Topside support, from the medical team at the main camp, is via VHF/ HF.
Experience/qualifications
* High degree of proficiency in spoken French.
* Minimum of two years' post medical qualification work experience, with previous remote site experience, preferably in a jungle environment.
* Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
* Trauma Management certification (ATLS, ITLS or PHTLS).
* Knowledge in the management of tropical disease and illness, including snake bites.
* Good level of health and fitness.
