Job Description:

To provide sound medical response and direction in the Oil and Gas Offshore Environment.

Duties:
Maintain all hospital supplies as per Vessel Flag Register, WHO and Helix Medical Protocols. This will include generating and distributing documents required to maintain the hospital accordingly.
Provide medical assistance to patients according to standing orders set for within Helix Medical Protocols. Providing clear communications with On-shore Medical Physicians, Helix Management, Vessel Management, including: patient care notes, emails, and other written reports as needed.
Provide assistance to the EHS Advisors and Vessel Management on emergency medical procedures, equipment, 1st response and inventory of necessary supplies throughout the vessel, including eye wash stations, emergency response stations and first aid/responder kits and stations.
Provide Assistance in coaching the vessel crew on proper health issues. I.e. Heat Related issues, Hygiene issues, Hydration and appropriate wellness issues or as directed.
Maintain registration/licensure to the level of Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic as required to practice profession.

Job Requirements:
Education: EMT-Paramedic
3 years as Paramedic and 6 Months Offshore experience Preferred
Good verbal/written communication, fluent in both written and verbal English, Microfost Office Proficient. Strong organizational skills as well as having the ability to work effectively on own initiative; Familiar with the offshore oil and gas industry and marine terminology; Be physically fit to work offshore and in International Environments.

Offshore Remote Site Paramedic, North America

Job Description:

Wood Group PSN has an exciting job opportunity for a Nationally Certified Emergency

Medical Technicians (EMT-P). The position will require a strong commitment to safety and

customer focus to our clients.


We are looking for Remote site Medics on a 14&14 or 28&28 rotation for various position

offshore in the Gulf of Mexico.


Responsibilities:

-Primary responsibility to provide emergency first aid and advanced trauma life support to

personnel at the Field site.

-Provide direct and indirect patient care

-Communicate effectively with operations management and support health personnel.

-Demonstrates personnel and paramedical responsibilities in order to maintain and atmosphere of mutual trust, recognition and respect for safety and health personnel.

-Perform clerical duties documenting platform activities, typing reports, managing files and

records. Generally function as office manager, offshore.

-Operates radios, telephones and fax machine and handle distribution of written correspondence and all related offshore communications.

-Provide weekly activity reports to appropriate persons at location.

-Provide weekly activity reports to Medic Systems supervisor, Medical Director and the Platform Supervisor as required.


Experience, Skills and Knowledge Required:

-Certified by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians as Emergency Medical

Technician-Paramedic level. 

-Successful completion of Conference on Offshore Paramedicine and the Conference on International Paramedicine.  ACLS, BTLS or PHTLS, and BCLS certifications are required and must be maintained.

-Minimum of two (2) year of Emergency Response experience at the Paramedic level.

-Must possess good communication skills.

-Must have excellent computer skills, especially in Excel and Access.


Preferred

-Certification in OSHA 300, 500 or 510

-Certification as a Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (COSS)

-Remote site Medic or offshore experience.
