The Taranaki District Health Board Ambulance Service has a vacancy for an Advanced Life Support Paramedic to be based in Stratford to work on a 4 on, 4 off day-shift pattern. The successful applicant will be required to work from time to time in New Plymouth or Hawera.
The position is important to support and strengthen the rural and remote rural service provided at Stratford by providing Advanced Life Support, including double crewing with Intermediate Life Support staff.
The Taranaki DHB Ambulance Service staff consists of 36 full time Officers and 100 Volunteers throughout the Taranaki region and attends around 13,000 patients a year.
The position will require the ALS Paramedic to have the following:
• BHSc (Paramedic), or National Diploma in Ambulance (Paramedic) qualification, or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
• Proven team player
• Physically fit
• Relevant driving licence
• Desire to work in rural and remote rural response areas
Taranaki has a population of 107,000. National Parks are plentiful within the province, with Mt Taranaki being a popular outdoor activity feature. The coastline offers attractive fishing locations, and there are several good swimming beaches.
