Aegis is currently recruiting for a Medical Trainer. The Medical Trainer is jointly responsible with the Medical Coordinator for all aspects of medical within Project Orchid.
The Medical Trainer is to report directly to the Medical Coordinator or the PD in his absence when on leave.
The Medical Trainer should be a former Combat Medical Technician Class 1, BATLS (or equivalent) with previous experience in Hostile Environment Close Protection (HECP) as a minimum.
* Conduct medical training
* Coordinate and update all medical training in line with current protocols
* Provide input to the Training Syllabus with regards to medical subject matter.
* Liaise closely with G4 in relation to medical re-supply and procurement
* Provide input and advice in the research and development of any equipment appertaining to Medical subject matter
* Provide advice to Medical Coordinator in relation to all Medical matters
* This post also requires performing additional duties of the Medical Coordinator during absences of leave.
* The Medical Trainer will stand in for the Medical Coordinator during the latter’s periods of leave and take over all the responsibilities of the MC. During these periods, the MT will report to the Project Director.
* The Medical Advisor/Instructor will also be required to perform any other tasks and duties not mentioned above as directed by any member of the AEGIS Management.
* Take lead of the Medical Emergency Response Team when required.
Specific Skills Needed to Fulfil Role
* Military experience obligatory.
* Private Security Company experience obligatory, especially as Operator / Medic on SET teams
* Previous work experience in the Middle East desirable.
* Good standard of written and verbal skills required.
* Computer literacy advantageous.
* Certification in remote medicine desirable.
* Certification in trauma care essential (EM-T, EM-P, ODP, trauma specialist or equivalent).
* Certification in Clinical care desirable.
* Previous experience clinical care experience desirable.
* Previous experience in Trauma care role essential.
* Good inter-personal skills, both with APO, ENI & external personnel.
* Age not prescriptive, but candidate will need the experience referred to above.
* Be in possession of a current driving licence.
* Must be able to work productively under pressure.
* Will need to demonstrate flexibility.
