Rostered mine site duties (8 shifts on, 6 shifts off)

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking applications from enthusiastic people for the role of Occupational Health & Safety Advisor and Industrial Medic or Paramedic to support our Australian operations. This is a site based role and the successful candidate will be required to work a 8 shifts on / 6 shifts off roster.

Duties of this position will include:
OH&S Advisor
Assist in the implementation of the SHER OH&S Management System.
Ensure compliance with State and Federal OH&S Legislation (i.e., Occupational Health Safety and Welfare Act 1986).
Carry out workplace inspections, audits and monitoring,
Provide support and specialist advice on OHS standards & regulations to company personnel and contractors on site.
Assist or performing site safety inductions and safety training modules.
Provide training in, and facilitate/review accident and incident investigations, risk assessments and JSEA’s .
Ensure personnel are trained in the appropriate effective use of personal protective equipment and ensure a stock of safety equipment is available on site and issued as required.
Maintaining accurate OH&S registers, databases and documents, ensuring they are regularly updated and reviewed.
Ensure best practice initiatives are investigated and implemented across Uranium One’s operations and to provide expert advice and direction in the execution of such practices.

Industrial Medic/Paramedic
Maintaining documentation and records for first aid, injury management and workers compensation.
Maintain readiness of First Aid room and medical response equipment at all times.
Planning and coordinating strategic health programs and initiatives, including coordinating and implementing occupational hygiene monitoring and improvement programs.
Design, develop and implement new initiatives, policies and procedures on health education/promotion and accident/disease prevention
Conduct a range of assessments and inspections to ensure compliance with legislation and standards etc (eg, display screen equipment (DSE), personal protective equipment (PPE) and the control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH))

ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate will be a qualified paramedic or industrial medic, have an occupational health and safety background with a minimum Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent demonstrated experience in occupational safety. Experience in the OHS field in the mining industry would be advantageous.

Applicants must be aware that if successful for the role, they will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening and provide a satisfactory police clearance.

All applicants must hold a current drivers licence.
