Job Description
SCOPE: THIS IS A PROPOSED POSITION AND AVAILABILITY OF POSITIONS WILL BE CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD. LOCATION OF PERFORMANCE WILL BE IN IRAQ.
Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records information on patients' charts. May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Typically reports to supervisor or manager.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:
Must have completed an approved Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Paramedic course. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Certification by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians – Paramedic (NREMT-Paramedic) is required.
Must have and maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) and State Paramedic License.
Must have a minimum of 2 years experience as a Paramedic in a hospital setting.
Must be in good physical condition with no duty limiting health deficiencies and the ability to successfully clear a DOS medical/dental examination.
Must be proficient in the use of basic word processing programs.
Must have a valid, current U.S. driver’s license.
Must have a current U.S. passport.
