Health and Safety Manager- Paramedic Trained

Salary: USD 80,000 per annum/(c. £49,720 per annum)

My client a Mining Company with operations in the Nordic Regions are currently looking to recruit a Health and Safety Manager who is Paramedic or Nurse trained.Candidates must hold Education and qualifications
Emergency level EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-P or a nursing qualification. Applicants will not be accepted without this.

The client runs a shift pattern of 6 Weeks on 3 Weeks off.

Key tasks and responsibilities
Health and Safety
- Chairman of the Health and Safety Committee. Arranging regular meetings, maintaining minutes.
- Daily HandS report to the General Manager and the Management Committee
- To ensure that the operation is compliant at all times with the requirements of the Greenland Working Environment Act and the Mineral Resources Act, to the extent that they impact Health and Safety matters.
- To constantly review HandS procedures and ensure compliance by all mine personnel and visitors.
- To ensure that no visitors enter the mine or the mill without proper PPE, instructions on how to use a self rescuer and basic emergency procedures. No visitor must be allowed into restricted areas unaccompanied.
- Maintaining a record of all accidents.
- Managing the policy for use of site vehicles by properly trained and licensed personnel only.
- Conducting drug, alcohol and firearm searches - all are banned from the site.
