MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. A
bachelor's degree is preferred. The knowledge, skills and abilities
that are essential for this position are consistent with The U.S.
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, EMS Core Content
and EMS Scope of Practice Model.
Experience: The Lead Paramedic must have a minimum of two
years of experience working on an emergency response
ambulance. In addition, the Lead Paramedic must possess
NREMT-P certification, American Heart Association, Advanced
Cardiac Life Support Instructor, (or equivalent), and American
Heart Association, BLS Healthcare Provider Instructor certification,
(or equivalent). The Lead Paramedic must be in good standing
with their certifying organization, and they must maintain these
certifications for the duration of their employment.
