Position Summary:The EMS Manager oversees the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) System on the U.S. bases in Kuwait.Essential Duties/Responsibilities:1. Provides leadership and day-to-day management of the EMS system.
2. Provides direction and leadership to supervisory staff who directly oversee EMT-Basics, Paramedics, Education/QA officers and a supply technician.
3. Manage staffing, scheduling, and unit hour production in a manner which benefits system, stakeholders, complies with contractual requirements, and remains fiscally sound.
4. Oversees all on the ground administrative functions to include, personnel issues, time and attendance and all other administrative functions required to run the EMS system.
5. Responsible for all United States Government (USG) and ITT and GW directed reporting requirements.
6. Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers, stakeholders, peers, and members of Area Support Group Kuwait (ASG-KU) and EMS community; effectively communicate and make prompt and accurate decisions to help achieve company goals.
7. Develops and oversees professional development/mentoring program.
8. Provides oversight for all major training exercises and drills.
9. Responds to emergency incidents and leads team under the direction of the ASG-KU Fire Chief.
10. May be required to cover down during staff shortages.
11. Performs other duties as assigned by Program Manager or GW-MFA Management.

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent is required; Associates/Bachelors is preferred. Registration at the EMT-P level with the National Registry.
Experience: Requires at least five years of management experience in an EMS system at the equivalent rank of Captain. Requires at least 10 years of experience working in a 911 system. At least 5 years in training and education is preferred.
Supervision Exercised:Direct supervision over three supervisors. Indirect supervision over the entire system (105 employees).Supervision Received:This position reports to the Program Manager – KBOS3.Typical Mental Demands:Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner. Must be able to follow and understand instructions, and react favorably in all work situations. Must have strong interpersonal skills and be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people at various levels within and outside the MFA.
