Trauma Assistance Program Supervisor (TCN) - Afghanistan

Job Summary:

In support of the ANP/MoI provide oversight, continuity, and quality assurance and program management to train first-level healthcare providers and produce qualified and capable personnel to provide emergency and evacuation patient care in forward operating Afghan National Police (ANP) operations in Afghanistan. Training sites include Regional Training Centers (RTC) in six geographical regions: Kabul, Gardez, Mazer-e-Sharif, Jalalabad, Herat, and Kandahar. The Trauma Assistance Program (TAP) includes implementing a program to train qualified ANP TAP students in a �train the trainer� program in each region, leading to a self-sustained, ANP TAP program and end state transition to an ANSF TAP or combat medic program with ANP forces.

The program supervisor provides oversight for the TAP program in each of the six geographical training facilities and provides input for reports mentioned above.

Principal Accountabilities:

Performs many of the following responsibilities as they pertain to assigned program:
Identify TAP students for the train-the-trainer program and submit candidate names to MTAG-P COR at the
end of each course (bi-monthly). There should be a total of 18 ANP personnel selected and trained as TAP instructors from all training sites annually.
Convene new TAP classes‟ bi-monthly (every two months) for the duration of the contract with a maximum student load of 40 with a student to teacher ratio not to exceed 20:1.
Provide proof that TAP students are able to read and write Dari/Pashto prior to commencement of class to the program manager and MTAG-P COR prior to each bi-monthly course.
Confirm that students have completed Afghan basic 6 or equivalent training course.
Perform other duties as requested.

Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
Excellent report writing skills required
Knowledge of various computer programs (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook)
Ability to work independently or in a team environment
Knowledge of operational methods of U.S. civilian police and/or U.S. military police
Knowledge/familiarity with U.S. Government Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) preferred
Must be willing to travel into and work in hostile international locations including various sites in the Middle East and Africa

Physical Requirements:

Primary duty station(s) are located in Afghanistan.
Place of duty and environmental conditions can be extremely austere, harsh, and work can be performed under hostile and life-threatening conditions.

Experience:

Possess a current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification with at least one year remaining on ACLS/CPR certification.
Possess five (5) to seven (7) years as a certified Medic, one (1) year instructor experience.
Overseas experience a plus.
Must be able to communicate, read and write in English level 3+

Education:

High school degree or equivalent.
