Family Practice Specialist - Physician MD or DO

Location: US Deployed - Iraq

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Physician must be comfortable practicing a broad spectrum of primary care, both acute care and management of chronic disease in addition to being able to care for patients’ true emergencies be they medical, surgical and traumatic.
Provide U.S. standard of care for our patient care/treatment model to ensure proper injury care and disease diagnosis, treatment and recovery, request necessary tests and follow-up visits and refer patients to specialists as necessary.
Coordinate with local hospitals to determine local capabilities, coordinate admission, monitor and arrange final disposition or stabilization of patient and coordination of evacuation of patient to medevac center or CONUS.
In some locations, the Physician may also have a leadership role and serve as both a Physician and Site Medical Director.

REQUIREMENTS:

U.S. or Canadian licensed and board certified/board eligible physician in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, or Internal Medicine;
Licenses are in good standing, are without restrictions;
Recent clinical experience in patient care, including at least 6 months out of the past year;
Post-residency experience as an attending physician, with additional training and/or experience in GYN, dermatology, ENT, pulmonary, cardiovascular, ophthalmology, medical, surgical, orthopedic, psychiatric and trauma emergency;
Must have and maintain current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR);
Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) or comparable advanced trauma course featuring “live tissue" or exceptional simulation training is highly desirable;
Equivalent non-U.S/Canadian education, board certification, licensing, diplomas and experience may be qualifying, after DOS RMO review.
Must have a valid, current U.S. Driver’s License and current U.S. Passport;
Proficient in the ability to speak, write and communicate in English.
