Medical Attendant , Qatar Petroleum

Primary Purpose of the Job:
To provides general administrative, physician and nursing support in the Ras Laffan Medical Centre To provide basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff.
Perform duties, such as feed, bathe, dress, groom, give bed pan/urinal, collect specimens, move patients, change linens and other basic tasks as required.
Assists in receiving patients who require emergency care by taking baseline information about the patient: name, age, sex, blood group, telephone number, company name and number.
Remains in the ER to be available to assist with the provision of care or to summon help, deliver specimens etc.
Assist nursing staff to provide nursing care and to assist physicians as required to manage emergency and routine situations.
Medical attendants should circulate throughout the clinic and be available to help as needed in the provision of care. They should direct patients to treatment and physician rooms to ensure they are seen as soon as possible.
Transport patients by wheel chair, trolley to within the clinic so that they can access physician, nursing, x-ray, laboratory services etc. or go to the washroom. Assists in ensuring that an adequate supply of nursing consumable items are kept in the clinic and assisting in maintaining the system of stock control by storing and retrieving supplies from the camp clinic. Ensuring that supply cupboards and other areas are kept neat and tidy.
At the beginning of each shift, and throughout the day, checks treatment and physician rooms and patient areas to ensure they are kept clean and tidy and have adequate equipment available for the physician/nurse to provide patient treatment and care.
Checks all rooms on a daily basis for problems with light fixtures, plumbing etc. and reports any problems to reception/senior clerk staff who will raise a maintenance request
Transports supplies and specimens to and from RAA Clinic, Hamad and Al Khor Hospitals and other agencies as required also, collects requested reagents, specimens, results of laboratory work, pharmacy and x-ray supplies.
Responds to enquiries from patients, staff, and visitors provides direction in a friendly and helpful manner.
Photocopy transport log book and send to transport on a weekly basis.
Assists with translation as required.
Other related duties as directed by the Administrator or delegate.

Education:
Educated to intermediate level plus First Aid Courses.

Experience & Skills:
Required reading and speaking English language.
1-2 years relevant experience in a medical environment.
