Description
Lumwana Mining Company is wholly owned by Barrick Gold Corporation and operates one of the largest new copper mines to be developed globally over the last decade. The mine is seeking high committed and enthusiastic Emergency Response Training Coordinator to provide an efficient and effective Emergency Preparedness training to all facets on site. The position reports to the Emergency Response Superintendent.
Compliance with OH&S practices and procedures as outlined in company Health & Safety policies and standards and relevant legislation
Conduct all site based Emergency Response Training and assist in the development of manuals and assessment tools
Develop and administer the ER volunteer group.
Develop and manage internal audits for site based training system for emergency response and preparedness
Provide continuous improvement training plan for the ongoing development of Emergency Technician team
Develop and participate in all inspections, audits, meetings designed to enhance safety, security and Emergency Response.
Conduct assessment for the current training needs and analysis and further develop gap analysis where required on members skills.
Mentor and coach and plan ongoing training as part of the site Emergency response training calendar
Skills & Abilities
The successful applicant must have the following qualifications/skills:
A recognized Industrial Rescue Certificate / diploma
Recognized Trainers Certificate / qualifications
Minimum (5) years in training and developing Ambulance officers, fire officers, Emergency Services Officers, Security Officers
Prior work experience at open pit mining operations
Demonstrated grasp of the principles of Emergency Response
Computer knowledge in MS Office Suite
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
