Our Client is an international integrated logistics and facilities management provider who specialise in the military support services sector, post conflict and remote areas.
Our client manages the design, construction and operation of sites for clients who need to operate in some of the worlds most challenging environments.
They are currently seeking a Medical Services Manager to be based at Kandahar Air Field, Southern Afghanistan. This is a permanent position on an open ended contract.
Reporting into the Assistant Operations Controller for Technical Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing effective medical support in Afghanistan for all of our clients staff.
Specifically you will maintain effective client relationships with our clients various business units through meetings and performance reviews.
You will manage the contract through telephone meetings/ visits, daily, weekly and monthly reports.
You will be the POC for our clients end client and agree medical decisions on evacuation and/or treatment and inform all parties of actions when appropriate and in accordance with our clients SOPs.
You will report on a monthly basis to the HR Director to agreed performance, targets, KPI achievements and future actions.
You will maintain the operating budget and will maintain the Equipment Register Stock Register of all clinics.
You will agree, maintain and improve key performance indicators for the contract.
Finally you will advise on the updating of SOPs as required.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will ideally be an accomplished medical services professional with medical qualifications to at least SRN / SEN / Paramedic level. Your practical medical patient experience should ideally be supported by experience in medical administration.
A military background would be particularly useful as would experience of having worked in post conflict or remote areas.
You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally one other language and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner, work to tight deadlines and pay attention to the detail.
Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be PC / IT literate.
This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished medical services professional looking for something different.
The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is an annual profit share bonus payable after 12 month’s service which is also paid in US Dollars and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Accommodation, laundry, local transport, medical / health insurance, permanent disability and death benefit, bereavement leave and meals are all provided free. In addition you will have the use of a phone to call family and friends and also use of the internet for e-mails etc.
Ex-Patriate employees will receive 63 days annual leave per year and the working rota is approximately 14 weeks on, 3.5 weeks off.
In addition Ex-Patriate employees will receive 3 paid return economy flights per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
