What we do
We work with global oil, gas, mining and energy corporations in assessing the health risks of their onsite employees working in some of the most remote operational environments. Each remote site clinic provides both primary and emergency healthcare services to the client’s onsite employee population.
The Position
The Paramedic would be responsible for the primary care of camp personnel located at a remote site in a jungle in Suriname. The care would include all trauma related injuries (stabilization and coordination of transport with International SOS). He position will require rotations of 6/6. The assignment is anticipated to be long term.
The Paramedic will be responsible for onsite first responder training and hygiene inspections as well as patient care. The ability to provide fire safety training on site is highly advantageous and will be considered in candidate assessments.
The Person
Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience
· Advanced Life Support ( Critical Care Assistant / National Diploma / B-Tech degree (Level: 7/8)
· Bilingual in English & Afrikaans (does not have to be the medic’s first language). Dutch would be a plus
· Experienced and capable of performing hygiene inspections
· · Experienced and capable of performing on site first responder training
· · Firefighting certification and qualifications desirable, or ability to provide fire safety training
· 3-5 years remote medical experience required
