The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Beirut delegation is recruiting a Field Officer for the Health department
The First Aid (FA) Field Officer (FO) is in charge of providing First Aid Training (FAT) to targeted audiences mainly to designated Palestinian camps in Lebanon.
Responsibilities and tasks, under the supervision of the health delegate:
Provides theoretical and practical FAT to designated audiences including basic dissemination, and Health Care in Danger messages, and ensures proper refresher training.
Monitors, evaluates and reports on the outcomes of the First Aid training and the use and storage of donated First Aid equipment, in cooperation with the regional Field Officers
In collaboration with the regional FO, keeps and develops a network of interlocutors involved in FA, ambulances and medical emergency services provision.
Develops and maintains working relationships with the Palestinian community groups involved in the First Aid training and other relevant stakeholders
Ensures accurate oral and written translations of discussions and teaching materials fromEnglish to Arabic and vice versa
During emergencies, supports the health department to design adapted responses, and organize FA assistance donations.
Main skills required for the position
Diplomatic and able to work independently, as well as part of a team
Innovative and creative in stimulating and maintaining the motivation of the trainees involved in the First Aid program
Good coordination and communication skills
Ability to adapt to the working context respecting Palestinian culture, adapting to security constraints
Flexibility to work outside working hours.
Minimum qualifications and experience
2 years work experience in a similar field
Good command of written and spoken English
Good computer and analytical skills
Experience in First Aid training is a must
Experience required: 2 to 3 years
Education degree: Bachelor Degree
