Remote Site Nurse/Paramedic

Within the scope of the development of our activities in Sub-Saharan Africa, we are currently looking for several nurses and paramedics who will be responsible for the provision of medical emergency and primary healthcare services of a mobile team who's in charge of a topographic survey and demarcation campaign.

This role will be based along the campsites for the Project and it is anticipated that the paramedics/nurses will spend a vast majority of his/her time in the field camp.

At the beginning of the project the positions can be filled through various short term missions.

Responsibilities:
The paramedics/nurses' duties will include the following tasks:
To support the Field Supervisor on a day to day basis and to coordinate and oversee all site specific healthcare activities.
To provide day to day operations and administration of medical services.
To provide primary and emergency care and establish a site medical centre.
To provide emergency medical care and coordinate and support all Emergency Response requirements with the operations team.
To draft and present daily, weekly and monthly health related reports and statistics.
To ensure compliance and regular audit of all work areas and facilities under health and hygiene auspices.
To develop and train employees on preventive healthcare programmes.
To handle some general administrative tasks.
To develop and align strategy with the HSECS (Health, Safety, Environment, Community and Security) Department.

Required skills, experience and training:
The paramedics/nurses will be required to have the skills and experience in the following fields:
Experience & Skills
3 to 5 years of remote operational experience as a paramedic/nurse
Be able to work in, and demonstrate they have experience dealing with specific remote conditions.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and general administration skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Must have good time management and leadership skills.
A previous experience in an industrial remote environment would be appreciated.
Ability to train and mentor local nurses.
Be fluent in French and English.
Ability to work in remote locations camps with minimal supervision in a complicated context.

Training
First Aid/ Basic Life Support Instructor.
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS).
American Heart Association Advances Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
American Heart Association Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Compensation and Benefits:
Working structure 6 weeks on site / 6 weeks off (Except possibly at the beginning of the project the positions - the position could be filled through various short term missions);
Offshore contract;
