About The Company
Our client is a large multinational company that supplies offshore vessels and specialised services to the Oil & Gas industry worldwide. They have recently been appointed a large construction project in the North West and are seeking several project personnel for the upcoming work.
About the Role
You will be working on a large construction barge that will be used in construction of “In Harbour” infrastructure. The Barge has the capacity to accommodate up to 250 workers and weighs in at 18,000 tons and is equipped with a 1000 ton Derrick Crane.
Working on an equal time roster of 5 weeks, we are seeking an experienced HSE / Medic officer who has Cert IV & Cert IV in TAE or greater as well as a diploma level in paramedical science.
Working closely with senior ship officers, deck mangers and crew you will be responsible for safety procedures and how they are implemented on the Vessel. You will also be the Barge medic able to treat and asses all injuries that may occur.
Reviewing, auditing and improving current safety procedures
Liaising, advising and directing all crew in safety procedures
Overseeing and implementing environmental procedures on the vessel
Job specific safety analysis and procedures for crew
Conducting pre start and post job safety meetings
Conducting inductions and maintaining the induction register
Educating and informing crew on safety
Gathering extensive information from senior personnel in all job details so you have the information required to make safety decisions
Document control in registers, controlled documents, procedural and safety
Treating injuries from minor to life threatening
The successful candidate will have at 2 year’s experience as a HSE / Medic officer in the offshore industry.
QualificationsTo be considered for the role you will need the following certificates and qualifications that are current and up to date.
Cert IV in OH&S or higher
Cert IV TAE
Medic or Paramedic qualification – Diploma Level or higher
Please note: This is a 5-week equal time roster with no flexibility for alternative rosters. You will also be committed to ongoing work for the duration of the project, which is 18 months.
Remuneration
This is an 18 month contract and you will be paid $900.00 + Super per day for day worked. Equivalent to approx. 160K + Super.
