Medic / Health Safety & Environmental Coordinator

Petrofac Facilities Management Ltd currently has an opportunity for a dual role Medic/ Health Safety & Environmental Co-ordinator. This is a permanent staff position with the Operations Management division, based on the Northern Producer asset working a 2/3 rotation.

Role
The medic role will involve the provision of first aid, primary and emergency medical care, ensuring the appropriate management of general health and wellbeing of all offshore personnel. The successful candidate will also advise on occupational health, hygiene, safety and environmental matters.

The HSEC role will provide a focal point for all platform safety activities and initiatives. Verifying and monitoring, through audit & inspection, compliance with health & safety policies and plans as part of the continuous cycle of improvement.

Duties:
•provide onsite first aid, primary care and emergency healthcare provision for all offshore personnel.
•coordinate and administrate medical evacuation to onshore in liaison with the onshore medical provider
•develop annual first aid training plan and deliver training for the first aiders and stretcher teams.
•plan and implement health promotion activities including awareness raising of general health matters and occupational health topics on a regular basis.
•maintain sickbay facility & conduct PMR’s on medical equipment ensuring accurate recording of information.
•provide information and advice on occupational health and hygiene matters, and carry out inspections and assessments as required.


HSEC
•act as platform principle Radiation Protection Supervisor ensuring all records are maintained and accurate. Comply with current guidance and legislation in respect to the disposal of LSA waste. Offer guidance, support, carryout assessments on, maintain all platform records, but not limited to, the following - COSHH, HAVs, manual handling, DSE, etc.
•provide support on safety and environmental issues to the OIM / Platform staff and promote compliance with policies, procedures and legislation in conjunction with the onshore HSS E Dept.
•coach and advise all platform personnel in order to increase their understanding and awareness of all existing and new HSE legislation.
•advise, coach and support all platform personnel in order to raise their safety awareness, attitude, behaviours and performance.
•ensure all actions in Synergi and local action tracker are closed out in a timely manner so that the close out date does not pass.


Status: Staff
Required Skills/Experience: • registered Nurse (Adult) or RMN with other nursing qualification (RGN or EN).
•NMC current registration, 3 years post registration experience. Or HM Forces medic/ medical assistant (CMT1, LMA1, RMA1) with 5 years medical service experience.
•current valid HSE Offshore Medic Certificate

Desired Skills/Experience: •radiation Protection for Supervisors training
•accident and Investigation trained
•competent in the use of and administration of Synergi Safety database
