Job Description:
Our client is currently seeking Medic/HSE Support personnel to start mid-August, rotation 6/6. The successful applicants will have a minimum 5 years of Medical experience and 2 years of HSE experience
preferably on-board Seismic vessels. Must hold the following qualifications/certificates:
HSE Offshore Medic Certificate
ALS
NEBOSH General Certificate
BOSIET
OGUK (formerly UKOOA) or equivalent
Responsibilities:
HSSEQ
- Assist Line Management to champion HSEQ requirements.
-Support, analyse and participate in Quality and HSEQ internal, sub contractor and
client audits, as required.
-Support and implement appropriate HSSEQ 'training aboard' e.g. Induction, Awareness,
Safety Observation Programme, Risk Assessment, Management of Change, Incident
Investigation, Safety Management, Quality Assurance, MS Office, etc.
-Assist with Incident Reporting as required. Review, follow up and provide analysis of
incidents, non-conformities, statistics and improvement processes to management and
crew.
-Participate in Emergency Response Team activities as required.
-Ensure that all personnel are aware of the crew safety structure and that they are familiar with the HSEQ practices and procedures for their job and that these practices are being adhered to in the day-to-day work.
-Provide guidance on maintenance, inspection, and replacement of PPE as necessary.
-Audits - continually review and improve practices and procedures by taking into account lessons learned, hazard identifications and risk assessments.
-Ensure the safety and welfare of all visitors and newcomers. Organize and conduct induction training and meetings for new personnel joining the crew and provide them with HSEQ material.
-Check all equipment; e.g. machinery, buildings, piping, electrical wiring, facilities,
water supply, food preparation, personnel, for HSE hazards and possible HSE improvements.
-Report all accidents and/or unsafe conditions in a timely manner.
-Share HSEQ knowledge and best practices with crew, line management and functional management.
-Dissemination of HSEQ information including alerts, incidents and statistics to the crew.
-Provide administrative support including input to the regular reporting.
MEDICAL
-To provide appropriate primary and emergency medical/trauma response management,
including the preparation for, assistance and management of emergency medical
evacuations to second line treatment facility.
-To diagnose and manage routine medical conditions and minor injuries.
-To follow client's medical procedures and protocols and report to vessel
Master and Client's Topside Consulting Physician, as required.
-To undertake accurate clinical examinations and maintain individual medical records.
-To safely and appropriately prescribe medications and when necessary seek advice from
Topside Consulting Physician.
-To treat all medical information in the strictest of confidence. In relation to medical
information, attention must be paid to Client's Medical Professional Code of
Conduct.
-To provide first aid training, basic or advanced as required.
-To initiate health awareness programmes relevant to the workforce and project location.
-To keep accurate records of the pharmacy inventory and ensure that stock levels are
maintained to an adequate level.
-Responsible for undertaking a monthly check of the Medical equipment and the Medical
stores inventory.
-To maintain records of injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences.
-To promote and oversee the company's wellness and smoking cessation programmes on
board.
