Primary Function
The person is responsible for monitoring and assuring a healthy working environment. Administers initial first aid and treatment for injured and ill employees. Maintains and ensures readiness of emergency medical equipment and supplies. Performs periodic LQ hygiene inspection and food supplies.
Work Performed / Duties
Administers First Aid for emergency illness and injuries until services of physician are available.
Maintains and ensures readiness of emergency medical equipment and supplies.
Ensures proper medical records and treatment administered.
Inspects working areas regularly to ensure proper sanitary, safety and health conditions are maintained. Ensures safety equipment are in good condition.
Ensure food supplies from shore are in acceptable conditions and daily monitors food storage refrigeration performance.
Monitors food-handling practices in the galley to assure proper health and sanitation measures are employed.
Maintains occupational injury and illness log.
Takes periodic drinking water samples for analysis.
Conducts first aid training courses for the platform personnel and participates actively in platform safety meetings.
Accompanies and attend seriously injured or ill personnel while being on transport from platform / vessel to shore.
Monitors and ensure daily personnel movement and allocated accommodation inline with survival equipment capacity.
Ensures normal safety briefing and first time briefing is done immediately upon personnel arrival.
Relieves the Radio Technician when required and familiar with helicopter landing procedure. .
Ability to adapt to odd working hours and performs any other duties as required by Offshore Installation Manager.
Respond to emergencies as part of the Offshore Emergency Response Team. Carryout all responsibilities, audits etc as required by the TML Safety Management System.
Supervision
Works directly under guidance of the Offshore Installation Manager. Shall be capable of working independent
Qualifications
Malaysian Certificate of Education or Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia, a Certified Nursing Certificate issued by the Ministry of Health ( 3 years course ) and Safety Officer Certificate (NIOSH / DOSH or equivalent)
At least 5 years as Health Technician on offshore platform.
Attended Helicopter Landing Officer ( HLO ) course.
Must be proficient in reading, writing and conversing in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
