The Dangoor Next Generation Programme 2013 expedition will be a three week adventure amidst the spectacular volcanic moonscape of north-east Iceland.

After touching down in Reykjavik, the Adventurers will transfer to their base camp at Svartarkot, where they will spend two days training and acclimatising to their new surroundings with a trek to the mighty Aldeyjarfoss waterfall. The team will then split into smaller groups, taking part in four different adventurous activities in four-day long phases.

Adventurers will trek across lava fields to ascend Askja Volcano, explore the mountains surrounding base camp, trek to Lake Mývatn to see its famous bird life and craters, and practice their navigation skills Geo-caching.

The teams will then re-group at base camp to review their achievements and break camp before setting off on the return journey.

BES actively recruits from Expedition Medicine course delegates so please mention 'Expedition Medicine' when applying
