Job Description:
Here at Maersk Drilling Norway AS we find
ourselves in a thrilling phase of growth,
accelerated by the construction of 4 state-of-the-
art XLE Jack Ups due to begin operations
between 2014-2016. Our ambitious expansion
strategy for the Norwegian Continental Shelf has
created a crucial opening for a Medic to be based
offshore on a fixed rotation.
The Medic is responsible for providing medical
services in accordance with good medical
practice and applicable rules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities will include:
• Administer first aid in the event of accidents
and arrange for consultations regarding
treatment of sick personnel
• Monitor hygiene and sanitary conditions of the
installation
• Responsible for training of first-aid team
• Assist the OIM with administrative work as
required, helping make new personnel become
acquainted with the rig, in particular the escape
routes and mustering stations
• Organisation of the preventive health work
onboard the rig.
• Supervision of the physical and mental health of
the personnel working onboard
• Registration of all "chemicals" (products and
substances that may create a health hazard) on
board
• Responsible for maintaining an appropriate
stock of medicines and nursing articles in
accordance with applicable regulations and
Maersk Drilling policies
Desired Skills & Experience
• Registered nurse with minimum five years
experience
• Experience from emergency room
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of
the role as occupational health worker
• Administrative skills
• Computer literate
• Safety Training Courses and Medical Certificate
in accordance with the requirements stipulated
for regular crew by the continental shelf authority
for the current operating area
• Proficient in Norwegian/ Scandinavian and
English language
