Safety Advisor/Paramedic

Kimberley Diamond Company are seeking a suitably qualified person to fill the role of Safety Advisor/Paramedic, working a 14/7 roster, reporting to the OHSS&T Superintendent. This role is for a 12 month contract only. Perth or Broome based only.

The duties and responsibilities you will undertake include, but are not limited to:
Responsibility for safety across the mine site and ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
Implementation and contribution to the development of occupational health and safety strategies, policies and procedures.
Provide coaching, guidance and technical advice on Occupational Health and Safety matters.
Conduct period Health, Safety inspections and audits.

Manage and produce all site based HSE documentation, reporting and compliance requirements.
Review and maintain the site critical risk register.
Provide medical and emergency duties as required, including callouts.
Provide skills and maintenance training for the site Emergency Response Team, and
All other duties as directed by the OHSS&T Superintendent.

Essential Criteria
Diploma in Paramedical Science
Diploma OH&S
Incident Investigation Training (ICAM or simular)
Cert IV TAA
Experience in preparation of documents such as Site Based Risk Assessments, Traffic Management Plans and JHA's
Extensive understanding of HSEQ management systems
Extensive understanding of current legislation, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards relevant to the mining industry
Excellent communication and organisational skills are a must as well as the ability to be proactive and a team player
Have a Flexible "can –do" attitude
Current WA Manual Driver's License
Minimum of 5 years' proven experience in a similar role.


Desirable Criteria
Surface Ventilation Officer (desirable)
Lead Audit qualification
Emergency Management/Response qualification
Prior management of an Emergency Team, Fire Team Leader, BA, Vehicle Extraction, Rescue from Height.
