Service Profile And Job Summary: Sidra Occupational Health Department will serve more than 5000 employees with six clinic team members and a clinic manager. The department is headed by the Director of Occupational Health and encompasses those activities that ensure the health and well being of all Sidra staff. This includes four essential components: worker injury treatment, employer specific services, surveillance/regulatory monitoring, and wellbeing
The clinic will operate with expanded hours to better serve all employee needs. The intention of Occupational Health  is to be proactive in providing preventative services that ensure worker health and wellbeing as well as being responsive to any and all work-related occurrences that impact an employee’s health.
The Occupational Health Nurse is responsible for competently providing safe and effective care to Sidra employees with minimal supervision by the Manager. The incumbent assesses care needs, plans, implements and evaluates programs of care. He/ She is responsible for ensuring that all duties are carried out to the highest possible standard.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Maintains required records and reports for the Human Resources department, Occupational Health, Quality initiatives, Joint Commission accreditation, Qatar Labor Law, or as required by law.
  • Responsible for administering employee immunizations in a manner consistent with good nursing practice. 
  • Responsible for following up on immunizations and assuring proper record keeping.
  • Observes, records and reports employee’s reactions to drugs and treatments to Occupational Health Manager. 
  • Responsible to assist in maintaining a comprehensive Employee Health Program that includes elements such as the following: Health History assessments, Immunization records, necessary titer records, TB testing, other regulatory required testing
  • Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials. Ensures cleanliness. Prepares list of medical supplies needed.
  • Responsible to assist in maintaining a comprehensive Immunization program that includes meeting all regulatory requirements and Sidra policies.
  • Assists with staff orientation and in-services and ensures competencies are obtained.
  • Provides updates to policies and procedures.
  • Maintains statistical information to assist with ordering of supplies.
  • Assists with projects to ensure a successful Occupational Health program and to promote Sidra.
  • Demonstrates good rapport, continual education updates, and cooperative working relationship with all hospital departments, physicians, and co-workers.
  • Provides input for the development of the annual department budget (i.e. capital equipment needs and immunizations).
  • Reports and cares for on-duty work related injuries and completion of related documentation as needed.
  • Provides first aid or act as a liaison with physicians for provision of Care for employees who become ill or are injured while on duty. 
  • Initiate and complete all required documentation and provide follow-up on employees treated.
  • Adheres to Sidra’s standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies 
In view of the evolving needs and opportunities within Sidra during this pre-operational phase, this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may vary.
Essential Requirements: Education
Registered Nurse - 3 year graduate program or equivalent
Experience
2+ years in Occupational Health in a North American Academic Institution  or equivalent in UK, Republic of Ireland, EU States, South Africa, Australia or New Zealand or Appropriate Education
Certification and Licensure

  • Registered Nurse with current Nursing License from country of origin
  • Certification in Occupational Health or related field (preferred)
