Position Summary Teekay Petrojarl is seeking competent and motivated candidates for the position Nurse for the Petrojarl 1 FPSO.
Petrojarl is currently on yard in Rotterdam and is expected sail-away to Brazil January 2016.

Major Responsibilities
Medical preparedness, primary health care, supervision of the working environment.
Create/develop workplaces which promote health and well-being.

For the Brazilian Sector:
The Nurse/Medic should perform his/her activities in accordance with the standards established by the "NORMAN 01 - DPC Brazil Navy, and Minister of Labor, Annex II of

NR-30 - Item 12 (International Medical Guide on board Ships)".

Specific Duties:
Attend to medical preparedness on the installation.
Participate in the emergency response organization in accordance with the emergency response plan.
Be responsible for the daily operation of the health service onboard, including order of and maintenance of medical equipment and medicines.
Offer primary medical treatment of illness on board, in cooperation with the company doctor.
Be responsible for first aid training, logging and documentation of lessons, and support in training of Emergency Response Teams.
Supervision of and follow-up of general hygiene, and food- and drinking water hygiene.
Health Promotion. Assist in the dissemination of information on work-related health risks as well as on general health
Assist line management in the identification, registration, explanation, follow-up and prevention of work-related illness.
Assist and follow-up of chemicals handling onboard. Assist in compiling a health risk assessment related to handling
of chemicals.
Assist in following up sick-leave.
Be a driving force and an active participant in prevention of substance abuse.
Accident reporting within own area of responsibility
Work with general HSE issues, with specific focus on safety and work actively to prevent accidents.
Administrative work in connection with crew change.
Be updated on relevant legislation and new practices in our Management System.

Furthermore, she/he shall carry out such work as has been required by her/his organizational or medical superiors and duties in accordance with the Contingency manual.


Education:
Three-year program leading to the degree of Registered Nurse
or UK sector:
Trained Army Educated Med. Tech. with varied, preferably Paramedic Experience from hospital/Army.
Preferably specialized education in emergency nursing.
UK sector: Offshore medic certificate
Basic English skills
COREN (Conselho Regional de Enfermagem / Regional Council of Nursing)

Work experience:
Five years’ working experience as a Nurse, of which three with relevant experience in the area of emergency medicine.
Preferably offshore work experience.



Additional Information:  The applicant must be fluent in Portuguese language.
