As Registered Nurse your day starts with opening his fully functional Offshore Hospital and checking your medical equipment and pharmacy to ensure that all routine and emergency supplies are ready. You spend much of your time in the clinic assessing and treating medical conditions. You also offer health advice and monitoring such as blood pressure and cholesterol checks, lung function tests, etc. The Nurse also offers advice to the
Captain and monitors public health issues in areas such as infectious disease, air and water quality and work site health exposures in co-operation with the Facility Manager. You co-ordinate first aid and stretcher team activities and you keep the Persons On Board (POB) administration up to date.

Your other tasks are to:
  • Maintain medical records;
  • Keep a controlled drugs log book;
  • Follow up on the medical advice from an onshore doctor in case of injuries and illness;
  • Assist with helicopter activities;
  • Conduct medical refresher trainings for dedicated first aid assistants on board at regular intervals.

Functie-eisen
  • You have a degree as 'Verpleegkunde A';
  • You are registered at BIG (Beroepen in de Individuele Gezondheidszorg);
  • You have at least 3 years experience as paramedic (ambulance, trauma team);
  • You have valid TNCC training;
  • You have valid PHTLS training;
  • You have attended periodical courses to maintain professional competence;
  • You are fluent in English and Dutch, verbal and in writing.
