Job Description
CHSi Careers MISSION: The mission is in support of F-16 Base Operations Support/Base Life Support/ Security (BBS services) to provide effective and efficient F-16 BBS services to the Iraqi F-16 mission at Balad Air Base as part of a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) case to the Government of Iraq.

Scope:   

Physician Assistants report to the Program Manager and are clinically supervised by the site medical director and work under the direction of a Physician, Surgeon, or Anesthetist. The PA-C will be assigned to treat patients in a clinical or hospital setting. Some settings may require the Physician Assistant (PA-C) to coordinate with local hospitals to determine local capabilities, coordinate admission, monitor and arrange final disposition. In addition, some settings will require stabilization of patient and coordination of evacuation of patient to medevac center or CONUS. The PA-C will stabilize and prepare sick and injured personnel to a higher level medical facility, and ensure that medical kits supplied to all personnel are maintained as to contents and serviceability. In hospital settings, Physician Assistants support the physician in planning and implementing the medical support program (preventive and corrective) to maintain the health of COM personnel. In some locations, the NP will have a leadership role and serve as both PA-C and Site Medical Director or Lead Physician Assistant . Physician Assistants provides a U.S. standard of care for our patient care/treatment model. The Physician Assistants support the medical function and will treat patients in these settings to ensure proper injury care and disease diagnosis, treatment and recovery, request necessary tests and follow-up visits and refer patients to specialists as necessary. All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which CHS is recognized.

Required Skills

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:

Full unrestricted Licensure, Certification, or Registration required.
Have three (3) to five (5) years’ experience as a Physician Assistant. Physician Assistant s with emergency medicine experience is highly desirable.
Physician Assistants will hold current national certification by the NCCPA hold and maintain a current unrestricted licensure from any state during the period of employment.
Have and maintain current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Participate in training, (including HIPAA training).
All health care providers and medical support staff must have recent clinical experience in patient care for at least 6 months out of the past year.


Note:CHS will provide institutional malpractice insurance as well as individual malpractice policies for the all Physician Assistant s and Nurse Practitioners. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Physician Assistants, at the direction of the responsible General Medical Officer, may be required to will hand carry meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks) for Hospitalized patients from the dining facility operated by another contractor to the Hospital inpatient ward and return trays or dispose of trash accordingly.
All Health Care Providers (HCPs) will document care delivered and follow up care required.
Assists with the managing of day to day activities and prioritizing tasks.
Attends and participates in a variety of meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, new task efforts, and new policy requirements. Assists with the managing of day to day activities and prioritizing tasks.
Operates personal computer to access e-mail, electronic calendars, and other basic office support software.
Complies with all applicable CHS standards and guidelines.


Other duties as assigned. OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a valid, current U.S. Driver’s License.
Must have a current U.S. Passport.
Requires a corporate background check, and a favorably adjudicated investigation if required by contract.
Must sign a CHS Service Agreement (FSA) and is bound to the terms and conditions of the FSA.
Complete a Foreign Affairs training course prior to deployment.
Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write and communicate in English.
Shall demonstrate proficiency in the use of basic word processing programs and the CHS Medical Management System software.


Work hours are based on 45 hr. work week, 9 hours a day 5 days a week. 


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be confirmed by a medical examination to be “medically and dentally fit” in accordance with CHS requirements.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
The climate is desert-like, hot, and prone to dust storms.
