The Position
The role of the Tier 2 Medic / Deputy Team Leader is to support the Team Leader to provide the link between the Team Leader and the remainder of the team, in addition to providing medical support to Olive Group’s project and assigned team during their working rotation.

Position Responsibilities

The Tier 2 Medic / Deputy Team Leader will provide general medical care, emergency medical care, conduct training to ensure team members possess basic medical competence. The Tier 2 Medic / Deputy Team Leader will adhere to the standards as laid down by the Olive Group Operations Manager and Olive Group Standard Operating Procedures. They will also supervise and conduct team administrative duties as directed by the Team Leader. In particular the Tier 2 Medic / Deputy Team Leader is responsible for:

First response medical emergency cover, trauma or primary care.

Working within a strictly applied and audited Clinical Governance structure, liaison with Reach-back support to a clinician in the UK as required.

Storage and accountability of medical equipment.

Generating and maintaining accurate confidential patient reports.

Exercising professional judgement and personal initiative to make informed decisions in relation to patient care.

Data management, providing weekly medical returns to Olive Group’s nominated medical governance provider.

Authorisation of the Remote Medical Support function.

Maintaining and practising within legal and ethical boundaries applying appropriate professional accountability.

Supporting the Team Leader in the command and control of the mission, to ensure that team members are administered, equipped and supervised in accordance with Olive Group Standard Operating Procedures.

Assisting the planning and execution of missions as directed by the Team Leader.

Reporting all disciplinary and security related issues to the Team Leader.


Essential Requirements
HCPC Paramedic, Registered Nurse, Doctor or HSE Offshore Medic (or overseas equivalent).

Minimum of 5 years’ of service in a regular Armed Force.

Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a Medic (CMT 1/Ambulance technician) or in an active ambulance care or medical emergency room.

Valid Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Satisfactory completion of a criminal record check within the recent 6 months.

Satisfactory completion of a formal Close Protection training course conducted by an SIA-approved training organisation (or other national equivalent)
