Saracen Mineral Holdings (ASX:SAR) is an ASX listed gold producer with its core assets located in world class gold provinces in Western Australia. Saracen has produced over 500,000 ounces at its Carosue Dam Operations located 120km NE of Kalgoorlie since operations commenced in 2010.
Saracen acquired the Thunderbox Operations in January 2014 and now boasts over 6 million ounces of resources and 1.6 million ounces of reserves, with a combined milling capacity of 5.0 million tonnes per annum.
Saracen Metals is planning to re-commence mining at the King of the Hills underground mine. The mine is located 60km south of Saracen's Thunderbox operations. We are seeking 2 Emergency Services Officers with a strong proactive Safety focus.
Reporting to the ER Coordinator, your main areas of responsibilities will include;
Driving safety during the re-start process.
Ensure compliance of Saracen's policies and procedures are being met by company employees and contracting staff.
Conduct assessments, audits and inspections ensuring required reporting is completed.
STEMS database maintenance.
Facilitate ER training.
Poisons Permit Compliance.
Provide medical assistance and treatment as required.
Ensure all ERT equipment is maintained to a high standard.
Assist in the development of rescue plans.
Liaise with medical providers on medical and injury management as required.
Monitor compliance of Return to Work (RTW) program with key stakeholders.
Assist in workers compensation claims management as required.
Medical, ERT & OHS support.
Skills and experience:
Cert IV Health Care (Ambulance) or equivalent formally known as "Industrial Paramedic"
Current Australian driver's license
Experience in a similar role within metalliferous mining or industrial sector
Recognised Occupational Safety and Health qualifications; Cert IV as a minimum;
ERT Team experience
Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (highly regarded)
Strong Eye for Safety
Previous underground experience
