The British Red Cross are looking for a Health Adviser to be based with our Technical and Advisory department. You will play a key role in the development and delivery of public health programming by supporting National societies in a dedicated portfolio of countries. Additionally a main responsibility will be supporting health programme monitoring and evaluation, including information systems.

As the Health Adviser, you will promote links between health and care, food security and livelihoods, epidemic control, organisational preparedness and disaster risk reduction, recognising the role of health as both essential assistance to beneficiaries and an entry point for the capacity building for National Societies.

The ideal candidate will have a graduate level health and/or public health related qualification or equivalent with a postgraduate level professional qualification in related fields of international and/or community health. Your extensive experience will include:
Working in health in an international response, recovery and development context;
Developing, advising and managing health programmes in a developing country;
Building organisational partnerships and organisational capacity in health;
Supporting and developing health staff and volunteers in the field
Assisting in the identification, promotion and support initiatives that build partners' capacities to implement high quality health and care related programmes for vulnerable people.

Please note this role will require regular travel to Country Programmes and other locations overseas and the ability to travel for up to 90 days a year. The role will also require you to operate in a physically demanding working environment.
