Italy Mission

Since 2016 MSF Italy Mission implements different projects:
In Rome, is active a rehabilitation center for victims of torture;
In Catania, MSF is opening a post-acute care center for migrants;
In the Mediterranean Sea, search and rescue operations;
In Trapani, psycho social support and transcultural psychotherapy for asylum seekers;
in Italy, psychological first aid for traumatic boat landings;


General objective

To reduce the morbidity and restore well-being vulnerable migrant population in post-acute care need, working in contact with public health system and civil society associations in order to create a new model of intervention.
Activities

To create and maintain a network and relations with the main heath facilities of the region.To create, implement and supervise the medical dossiers of the patients.

In collaboration with the Field Co., S/He recruits, supervises and evaluates his own staff. Implements the inclusion/exclusion criteria in collaboration with the public health system partners.

S/He is responsible for the treatment of the patients.S/He maintains the contacts with the public health system partners.

Follow-up dyagnostics.

Follow-up medical dossiers.

Follow-up discharge of patients.

Follow-up vulnerabilities.

Responsible of the data collection and epidemiologic analysis of it.

Elaborate report accordingly with mission deadline.

Drugs management

S/He is responsible with the Nurse Activities Manager of the Drugs and Consumables Stocks.To evaluate the drugs and consumables needs

Communication
S/He has a direct line of communication with the Field Coordinator.
In coordination with the Field Coordinator, S/He feeds the institutional networking.
Requirements

Education

Degree in Medicine with registration to the equivalent Italian “albo”

Experience

• Essential working experience in European migration fields/contexts

• Essential working experience, of at least two years in relevant similar jobs in other NGO’s or previous field experience with MSF in different contexts.

Desirable:

. Public health studies

· Tropical medicine

· Knowledge of the regional health system

· Clinical experience

Languages

• Proficient in English (minimum C1) as working language

• Proficient in Italian (minimum C1)

Skills

· Computer literacy (word, excel and internet)

· Diver License (B)
