PROGRAM BACKGROUND PLEASE ENTER GENERAL INTRODUCTION OVERVIEW
This is a Public Health emergency caused by Ebola outbreak in North Western DRC in Equateur Province and IMC is responding to this outbreak.

International Medical Corps primary response will support DRC ministry of health through existing Health facilities with the following:

Triage
Isolation and Treatment (if required)
Training
Referrals (if required)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function with or without reasonable accommodation

Coordinates and manages the national nursing staff.
Ensures that proper care is provided to the patients and that the care corresponds to established protocols and guidelines
Ensures that all activities in the wards are carried out safely and in line with IPC protocol
Ensure that the infection prevention and control (IPC) measures and protocols including the correct use of personal protective equipment are respected and adhered to.
In coordination with the Medical Coordinator, provide induction and training of nursing/Clinical Staff on the infection prevention and control protocols and procedures.
Coordinate all aspects of patient care with the Medical Coordinator
Supervise nursing/Clinical staff and ensure safe compassionate nursing care is provided
Ensure that sufficient PPE and other relevant materials (infrared thermometers)  are available in the facility
Monitor the consumption of all medical commodities including pharmaceuticals and other materials like PPE
Ensure nurses are properly collecting and recording data for each patient using agreed recording forms
Notifying the Medical Coordinator about any problems with nursing staff and compliance with protocols
Prepare duty roster for nurses and Clinical Staff
Organize staff handovers between each shift
Coordinate with other IMC staff to ensure smooth running of the centre
Coordinate with other agencies and MoH responsible for health promotions, contact tracing, lab testing and referral as required

Qualifications:
Fluency in French and English
Nursing Degree (for Nursing Role)
Post Graduate Public Health qualification will be a plus (e.g. MPH) for both categories
Valid license to practice in country of residency/origin is desirable
Ebola experience is preferred
Primary health care and communicable/tropical disease experience is preferable
Experience in emergencies, conflict settings and Resource limited setting is desirable
