Our work in over 75 countries is strengthened through our global network of like-minded organisations - the only one of its kind in the world. Activities in Sudan to-date have included community-based integrated development programmes, capacity-building amongst local NGOs, and information and advocacy.
The medical coordinator will be responsible for the implementation and supervision of all HAI health and nutrition activities in Darfur, ensuring an efficient humanitarian response and an improvement in the health and nutrition status of older people. S/he will take a leading role in the international agency community in Darfur in the protection and promotion of older people’s health and nutrition within the framework of the current crisis, and offer his/her expertise to the other hospitals or health establishments in areas where HAI Sudan is operational to build the capacity of national doctors in Geriatric Medicine.
A qualified medical practitioner, you will have extensive and intensive experience of managing health and nutrition programmes in emergency or development contexts, including staff management and capacity development. Demonstrated experience in public health is essential for this role, as is experience of working in Africa and insecure/highly sensitive political environments. Fluency in English and excellent prioirtisation skills are required for this role.
