1. Background of Position/Operational Asset:
We currently have a vacancy for a Medic on the Douglas Platform located in Liverpool Bay, which is part of BHP Billiton’s UK Production Unit.
2. Background of Role:
The Medic reports to both the OIM and HSE Manager and has responsibility for the safe, efficient and cost effective operation of the installation. The Medic will provide professional medical assistance to all personnel, ensuring all statutory offshore medical requirements are met. The Medic also provides administrative assistance to the offshore management team including operation and maintenance of the Vantage System.
3. Responsibilities:
• Provision of adequate medical facilities for personnel and a welfare campaign to promote the well being of offshore personnel
• Operate and maintain the Vantage system and accommodation administration as required
• Provision of guidance and direction, as required, for any vessel or helicopter entering the 500 meter zone
4. Duties:
• Safety Management – Responsible for understanding and complying with Safety Case, ensure all medical facilities and equipment are maintained fit for purpose and adopt safe working practices at all times
• Emergency Response – responsible for medical support during emergencies and exercises.
• Provision of first aid training to First Aid Teams and Emergency Response Teams
• Provision of health awareness campaigns to all crew
• Support of occupational health monitoring and management system
• Ensure all installation medical, safety and life support systems are operational and fit for purpose
• Ensure all medical materials and substances are managed and controlled in accordance with Company Operating Procedures
• Provide administrative assistance including operation and maintenance of the Vantage System
• Field support to other UKPU Sites
