Hydrocarbon Resources Limited (HRL) part of Centrica Energy owns and operates the Morecambe Gas Fields, as well as operating and supporting third party fields within the East Irish Sea. Our offshore Production Facilities, Onshore Processing Terminals and Support Base provide a complex and challenging operating environment. We now require an Offshore Medic to provide a comprehensive medical service on our offshore installations under the guidance of the Occupational Health Ops Manager ensuring full compliance with both statutory requirements and company standards.
The offshore Medic is a crucial position within the offshore environment, acting as the focal point for day to day ‘medical expertise.’
You will be part of the occupational health service within HRL, working closely with occupational health professionals, delivering the offshore elements of the business HS&E objectives and targets.
As OSEO, the job holder will use their HS&E expertise to stimulate a proactive HS&E culture, utilising daily contacts with management, supervision, workforce and Safety Representatives and seeking innovative ways to promote high levels of HS&E awareness and good practice.
Your Background:
You must have a valid Offshore Medic Certificate (HSE course), and proven relevant Offshore working experience.
Demonstrable experience of working in an environment where you have used your own initiative and made considered judgements.
You will have experience of working with both technical and operational management as well as OH departments.
You must have effective communication, interpersonal and influencing skills to promote the desired safety culture and encourage improved safety behaviour.
You should possess a thorough understanding and experience of Offshore Operations including production plant operation and maintenance and hold a Health and Safety qualification (NEBOSH General Certificate).
You will be a natural team player, willing to take responsibility and work to create a positive environment, who is capable of seeing the bigger picture.
