The Medic is responsible for administering first aid & managing medical emergencies onboard our offshore drilling rig.
The Medic furthermore has responsibility for the following:
-Organisation of the preventative health work on board the rig, and supervision of the physical and mental health of the personnel working on board.
-Administer first aid and treatment to injured and sick personnel consulting the Company doctor or the Duty Doctor when necessary.
-Supervision of the medical emergency preparedness in respect of accidents
-Control of the hygienic standard on the rig, and assist with monitoring the working environment on board.
-Registration of all “chemical” (products and substances that may create a health hazard) on board.
The successful applicant must:
-Have prior experience as a paramedic in a remote location
-Have extensive computer literacy
-Be conversant with quality, environmental and safety management principles
-Be literate in the English language both written & spoken
The successful applicant will also ideally have:
-Emergency Room experience
-Keen eye for detail
-Local Australian experience
