Join our team on both Heather and Thistle, where an opportunity
has arisen for a Medic to join our Core Crew on a 2 on 3 off rota.
The successful candidate will work one week on Heather and one
week on Thistle. Your main duties will be:
Role and Responsibilities:
• Provide support on safety and environmental issues to the
OIM / Platform staff and promote ideas for compliance with
policies, procedures and legislation.
• Coach and advise all platform personnel in order to increase
their understanding and awareness of all existing and new
legislation.
• Advise, coach and support all platform personnel in order to
raise their safety awareness, attitude, behaviors and
performance.
• Ensure that all accidents and incidents are thoroughly
investigated so that the root causes are fully understood,
communicated and effective actions implemented to prevent
reoccurrence.
• Carry out onshore and/or offshore Induction of new personnel
to ensure an adequate understanding of offshore safety in
relation to Thistle platform standards and requirements.
• Advise and support the Platform Safety Representatives.
• Develop annual training plan and conduct first aid training with
the Medical Teams, and casualty handling with Stretcher Teams.
• Manage and maintain the Healthy Working Lives award scheme
through monitoring status and implementation of initiatives.
• Develop and implement monthly Occupational Health
awareness and general health themes through presentations at
weekly safety meetings as per the annual plan.
• Implement and manage Fitness Check programme for Fire
Team Members.
• Monitor Platform health and safety policies, procedures and
practices to ensure compliance with company and legal
requirements.
• Monitor and improve the quality of accident and incident
reporting.
• Custodian of the Action Tracking System, its maintenance and
management of action tracking to facilitate timely close out of
actions within the system.
• Custodian of the platform monitoring and auditing programme,
including the platform Self Regulating Monitoring System,
ensuring that yearly program is updated and maintained.
• Liaise with the Platform Training and Development leader to
ensure emergency response
• Report Daily to OIM on Medical Encounters.
• Ensure competencies are maintained and development plans
issued.
• Maintain a library of legislation and documentation as required.
• Assist in planning and organising emergency response
exercises and maintaining a debrief register.
Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
• RGN Nursing / HM Forces / Medics Qualification
• Experience as an Industrial Medic / Nurse
• Experience in the offshore oil and gas industry preferred.
