Position Summary:
Under the direction of a licensed medical physician or designated healthcare provider, the remote site Trans-Alaska Pipeline System Tech Medic administers emergency medical treatment and transports sick and injured patients to definitive care medical facilities or evaluates and treats non-emergent illness or injury.
The Tech Medic is required to obtain a State of Alaska Armed Security Guard license, and will assume the duties of a TAPS security officer at remote facilities and/or the Valdez Marine Terminal.
Qualifications:
High School education or equivalent
NREMT or State Certified – EMT - Paramedic
Minimum of 3 years at a high volume EMS or Medical facility
State of Alaska EMT III certification by Comity or examination after employment
Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
Basic Life Support -provider (CPR) certification
Basic Trauma Life Support (Advanced) or Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support certification
Pediatric Advanced Life Support or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (Preferred)
Possess a valid Drivers License
