Base Supervisor
Job Summary:
· Supervises assigned personnel. Includes professional development, assessments, counseling and disciplinary action as required. Involved in recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training and teaching continuing education sessions as required.
· Responsible for operations and management of assigned base. Includes oversight of base quarters, equipment, medical stock/supplies, PR stock, building maintenance needs and overall housekeeping. Maintains base in working order.· Responsible for monitoring currency of occupational health compliance, education compliance and overall compliance with position certifications/expectations.
· Coordinates monthly base schedule and assists in completion of payroll.
· Active participant in management team. Participates in meetings as required, i.e., supervisor team meetings, operations meetings, marketing meetings, etc.
· In collaboration with the Director of Business Development, provides public relations and customer service for the market in the assigned base region. Develops and maintains relationships with both internal and external customers. Evaluates effectiveness of PR and marketing for base as part of organizational strategic plan.
· Maintains flight status and scheduled for at least 24 hours of flight duty per week on an average.
· Accountable for base finances to include invoice validation and approval and ordering base inventory. Initiates cost control measures.
· Chairs regularly scheduled base staff meetings and provides/maintains meeting minutes.
· Responsible for effective communications with internal and external customers.
Qualifications/Experience
· Requires at least 1 and preferably 3 years flight experience and current licensure. Bachelors degree in healthcare related field preferred
· Previous supervisory experience preferred.
· Must possess good writing, speaking and interpersonal communication skills
· Leadership skills and the ability to relate to clinical EMS staff and regional customers are essential
· Must be computer literate with above average software proficiency
· Must be willing to relocate to within 2 hours of base
