Remote Search & Rescue Dive Supervisor , Congo

Qualifications: The RSR Dive Supervisor must be a certified dive supervisor. Experience in general boatmanship and safety aspects of working on and with a boat and the boat’s equipment. The candidate should have experience in the recharge of dive cylinders. Basic Life Support Techniques experience will be an advantage, Familiar with Helicopter hoisting procedures, Valid driver’s License. Have excellent oral and communication skills in English. (French will be an advantage) Good computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel). Must be able to work in austere conditions in Africa.

Mandatory: Fire Fighter 1 (NFPA 1001) or equivalent. Certified Dive master or equivalent. The candidate should have experience in altitude diving and search patterns in zero visibility. (Black water diving) Experience in general boatmanship and safety aspects of working on and with a boat and the boat equipment. Basic Life Support (BLS), including CPR. Basic high angle rope rescue operations. The candidate must have experience in the recharge of dive cylinders. Experience with helicopter hoisting procedures. Valid heavy vehicle drivers license with a minimum of TWO years driving experience.

Desirable: Fire Fighter 2 (NFPA 1001). Certified as (Class IV) rescue diver or equivalent with experience in altitude diving and search patterns in zero visibility. Have experience in swift water rescue procedures. Advanced rope rescue. Commercial skipper’s license. Experience in High angle rescue operations working with rope rescue equipment and working at high altitudes and extreme weather conditions. Aviation Firefighter and Rescue experience will be an advantage.
