Flight Paramedic
Duties and Responsibilities:
4.1 Complete assigned responsibilities while functioning within established guidelines, standards and directive under the immediate supervision of the respective Base Supervisor
4.2 Provides high quality of patient care based on competent understanding of patient/client needs within established policies and procedures
4.3 Provides attentive patient care in a thorough, efficient and cost effective manner and maintains an awareness of the patient physical, medical and cultural needs at all times
4.4 Anticipates potential problems and responds to them appropriately and accountable for operating and maintain Air Medical equipments and to avoid it from damage or breakage
4.5 Ensures aircraft EMS supplies are in constant state of readiness.
4.6 Ensures participation with receiving & sending facility in loading/unloading patients on helipads.
4.7 Ensure continuous and effective communication with all public safety & security departments.
4.8 Participates in all department meetings as needed
4.9 Continually strives to deliver high level of care
5.1 Assists in situational problem solving and in the utilization of limited resources and supplies
5.2 Assists other staff members while encouraging cohesive teamwork approach in the workplace
5.3 Works in harmonious partnership with members of the Air Medical Staff and Aviation Provider.
5.4 Maintains a professional image and proper grooming at all times.
5.5 Maintains punctuality (report to work on time) and organizes daily tasks and break time efficiently and effectively
5.6 Complies with department policies and procedures
5.7 Complies with the standards laid down by the approved International Accreditation Standards
5.8 Report any occurrence not consistent with the standard operations of the service for the patients, employees or visitors and situations which put patients, staff or visitors at risk for Injury or other harm
5.9 Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities
Educational Requirements:
6.1 Degree or Certificate in Paramedic Studies or equivalent from recognized University by the Saudi Council for Health Specialty
6.2 Current valid certifications in the following:
6.2.1 Basic Life Support
6.2.2 Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or equivalent (ITLS)
6.2.3 Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
6.2.4 Pediatric Life Support (PALS)
6.2.5 Critical Care Paramedic (CCP) or Flight Paramedic (FP) is preferred
Professional Experience:
7.1 3 years experience as Advanced Life Support Provider
7.1.1 Must be verified with letter of employment from previous employers
7.1.2 1-3 years in Aviation Medicine is preferred
7.2 Fluent in English, both written and spoken, Arabic is advantage
7.3 Computer literacy level is required, proficient is preferred
Specialized Knowledge:
8.1 Must be well versed in the field of his/her specialty
8.2 Emotionally stable and in good health. Able to work extended hours under heavy stress
