As a shipboard nurse with Princess Cruises, you will have the opportunity to enhance your skills and work alongside an experienced, diverse medical team. Requirements include bachelor's degree in nursing (or equivalent), current registration and licensing with appropriate governmental or provincial regulatory body, three years post-registration work as a nurse in acute care, and experience in emergency medicine or intensive/critical care. Responsibilities
Princess Cruises maintains a well-equipped medical center onboard, which includes a critical care area, x-ray, lab and pharmacy. With broad experience and proven proficiency in emergency medicine, our medical staff is expected to manage acute medical emergencies, trauma patients, and a diverse general practice case load. Daily walk-in clinics are held to meet the basic medical needs of passengers and crewmembers.
Performs prompt and effective first response, triage, and appropriate transfer at all times.
Routinely plans and delivers evidence-based holistic care and facilitates continuity through effective oral and written communications.
Demonstrates competency in drug computations and medication dispensing and administration at all times.
Operates all patient care equipment appropriately and safely.
Writes patient documentation that is concise, timely, complete, and legible.
Recognizes limits of own abilities and knowledge and always asks for help when needed.
Consistently demonstrates sensitivity to every patient’s culture, age, gender, ability, and socioeconomic status.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in nursing (or equivalent).
Current registration and licensing with appropriate governmental or provincial regulatory body.
Three years post-registration work in acute care.
Experience in emergency medicine or intensive/critical care. Consideration may also be given to those with experience in intensive or cardiac care and those with experience working in remote locations with increased autonomy and responsibility.
Must have valid Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification prior to joining a vessel.

Assignments onboard are 4 months in duration - visiting numerous ports of call on a variety of worldwide itineraries. You will have 2 months off in between 4 month contracts.
