MdM currently works in more than 45 countries across all continents where it focuses on 5 priority areas: emergency and crisis, sexual and reproductive health, harm reduction, migrants and displaced populations (health rights), health and environment.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the management of the head of geographical Unit and in functional link with the head of the quality of practices Unit. You provide technical support to the project teams to ensure the quality of the MdM programs and health activities in their definition and implementation.
Your main responsibilities are to:
OPERATIONAL STRATEGY AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT
-Contribute to the design and follow up of exploratory missions
-Contribute to the project definition, proposal writing
-Contribute with the desk and the field teams to indicators definition, monitoring and evaluation methodology, monitoring and analysis of medical data collections
-Contribute with the desk and the field teams of country’s operational strategy: health context and needs, socio cultural determinants, international health policies, MdM standards, MdM strategic priorities …
-Contribute to the regional strategies within the geographical unit and geopolitical group
QUALITY OF PROJECTS IN HIS/HER AREA OF EXPERTISE
-Ensure the quality of the projects and technical support to the teams in terms of implementation of quality standard, respect or set up of protocols/procedures, validation of pharmacy orders, health context surveillance...
-Ensure the adaptation of MdM guidelines and policy in the projects and identify the needs of MdM tools and policies according to the context of the project
-Contribute to the capitalization of experiences
-In link with the quality of practice unit, contribute to the definition and the elaboration of the quality policy of the association, update of guidelines and policy based on field practices and international recommendations
-Punctually may contribute to working groups on transversal or thematic topics
CAPACITY BUILDING
-Identify the needs in training, workshops, exchange of practice within projects
-Ensure or contribute to the development and animation of internal and external training
HUMAN RESOURCES
-Contribute in writing job descriptions of medical/technical health staff members and participate to the technical recruitment of medical coordinator
-Provide briefings and debriefing of medical coordinators
REPRESENTATION
-May represent Médecins du Monde at conferences / symposiums / technical meetings

22.5 RTT per year
5 weeks of paid leaves per year

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
Medical doctor or medical diploma
Field experience as a medical coordinator
Knowledge in public health
Adaptability, rigor, team building capacities
Knowledges of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Internet
English fluent
French is an asset
