Occupational Health Nurse For Refinery

Job Overview
Reporting to the site occupational health nurse, you will assist with the medical surveillance program and be responsible for providing comprehensive primary and emergency care to on-site workers in the refinery.

Key Accountabilities

Provide primary care to ill or injured employees
Provide emergency response
Maintain confidential medical records
Liaise with healthcare professionals, management and employees
Perform health surveillance programs including health evaluations


Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

Three years or more of nursing experience
Experience in emergency nursing and occupational health nursing is an asset
Active registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) as a registered nurse
Certification in International Trauma Life Support (ITLS)
Skills and Knowledge:

Strong knowledge of the Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB)
Proficient with audiometry, spirometry and vision testing
Emergency first aid knowledge
Computer literacy; knowledge of Medgate GX is an asset
Able to work well with minimal supervision
You do not take or tolerate shortcuts and if the procedure is incorrect, you fix it
Working Conditions

The shift schedule is casual on-call without fixed or pre-planned hours
