Occupied Palestinian Territories

Main purpose

The Deputy Medical Coordinator- Pain management developer works under the responsibility of the Medical Coordinator and he/she’s in charge of finalizing the situation analysis on pain management in Occupied Palestinian Territories (OTP) and developing project’s strategies.

MISSION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1- Finalize the situation analysis on pain management (based on the first situation analysis done in October 2017) in Palestine including:

• Stakeholders mapping

• Identification of main gaps, needs, demands and existing resources

• Identification of key stakeholders

• Identification of potential interventions

2- Based on the situation analysis, assess the feasibility to develop new activities or project with a strong focus on pain management

• Maintain and develop the networking with local and international initiatives

• Build potential partnerships locally and

3- Plan and write a project plan with the MSF team activities or project related to pain management

4- Work in link with the local technical advisor on pain management and medical managers on the MSF clinics and support them in improving the pain management strategy

PROFILE/REQUIREMENTS :

Education:

Medical doctor or Nurse

A diploma or specific training on pain management and/or palliative care is an asset

Public health diploma, specialization and/or master is an asset

Experience:

Essential, working experience of at least two years in situation analysis, program management and development of new projects in collaboration with other actors and partners.

Essential proven experience in self-developing new medical skills in a new topic.

Desirable experience in pain management

Desirable, working experience with MSF or other NGO’s

Language:

English mandatory (oral and written);

Competences:

· Methodology skills in exploratory mission and situation analysis (rapid appraisal methods for eg)
· Project development and writing skills
· Project implementation skills
· Very good diplomacy skills
· Teamwork and Cooperation
· Flexibility
· Results and Quality Orientation
· Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet)

WORKING CONDITIONS :

Position to be filled in March for at least 6 months (renewable)
Fixed term contract
Unaccompanied position
Salary status according to the MSF salary grid and your previous experience in international NGOs if any.
Monthly Perdiem
Insurances : medical hearth coverage, repatriation
Paid holiday : 25 days per year
