Opportunities are available on a long term back to back basis or Seasonal placement to provide primary and emergency healthcare to site personnel, often working in hazardous and austere environments.

Description :

Our client is seeking to recruit to the position of Offshore Medic Safety Advisor. Working as an integral part of their offshore teams, the Medic & Safety Advisor will be expected to provide comprehensive medic services and appropriate medical support to all crew, promoting health & safety best practice and each individual’s responsibility towards all others on-board. You will be the focal point for all health, welfare and safety issues on the vessel.

The role will require your advisory, training and auditing skills, as you will be responsible for the ships’ medical facilities and medicines, managing offshore medical care, maintaining records, producing reports and where necessary, proposing recommendations and improvements to the Vessel Master, Party Chief and HSEQ Manager. You will also conduct accident and incident investigations as required, adhering to health & safety operating guidelines, company protocols and sharing information with relevant parties.

It is essential that you are either an experienced offshore medic, a qualified medic or paramedic or have armed forces field medic experience. You will also hold a relevant medical qualification and preferably a NEBOSH or recognised Health & Safety Certificate. It would also be beneficial to hold auditing qualifications or experience of working with ISO 14001, 18001 or 9001 systems.

To work on their vessels you will need to hold or successfully complete an ENG-1 Medical and STCW95 Survival Course, as this post will be offered under a seagoing contract of approximately 180 days at sea over a 12 month period. They work on projects all around the world, so you must also be prepared to travel and be able to do so without restriction. A full UK driving licence is also required.

Ability to build relationships and communicate at all levels will be important, using your personality, attitude and professionalism to influence thinking, improve understanding and achieve goals.

Offshore Medic/Registered Nurse

Our offshore clients are currently seeking Offshore Medic/Registered Nurses for relief on various vessels.
In addition to regular nursing duties you will be responsible for the following;
Organisation of the Preventive health work on board, and supervision of the health of the personnel working onboard
Administer first aid and treatment of sick and injured personnel
Supervision of the medical emergency preparedness
Control the hygienic standard on the rig
Provide clerical back up
Plan transportation of crew to and from rig
Maintain medical confidentiality

The following qualification are a minimum;

-Registered Nurse with current National Registration (Emergency Experience Preferred)
