Swift is looking for an Emergency Response Advisor for one of our clients in Angola, Africa.
28/28 Rotation
Experience Required: Minimum 20 years' experience in firefighting service. Experience working in a multi-cultural international environment. Supervisory experience.
Qualifications Required: University degree in Emergency Management, Safety or related field. Prefer a certified professional (Fire Fighter I, II, Fire Service Instructor I, Hazmat Technician, and Incident Commander). NIMS 100/200, 300/400, 700.
Required Skills:
Strong Health, Emergency Response, Emergency Management, and fire safety.
Requires strong supervisory (leadership, people skills, etc.) organizational and technical skills of emergency response equipment.
Deployment of emergency response equipment, activating, and directing the emergency response team, volunteer fire brigade during response to fires, chemical spills, and other emergencies and ensuring safety of all responders.
Demonstrated high level of knowledge in incident command system, site safety, site management and communications during any emergency responses and be able to carry out emergency response activities under any of the on-scene response team positions.
Ability to identify training needs, arranges and conducts training courses, on the job training, and drills for emergency responders; ensure training documentation is up to date and maintained; knowledge of NFPA – 600 Industrial Fire Brigades and NFPA – 1001 Fire Fighter I and II training requirements.
Extensive knowledge of, implements and enforce guidelines and pre fire plans.
Strong English skills both reading and writing.
Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office programs.
Roles and Responsibilities
Mentors and develops Company Officers, Firefighters, volunteer fire brigade members, and Support Personnel.
Provides advice for strategies and trends in the Fire Department
Provide advice and consultancy to develop and implement emergency plans and projects.
Provide advice and consultancy to crisis management team, emergency management team, and on-site response team during incidents.
Provides immediate management direction for required action during fires and other emergencies, ordering and deploying equipment and personnel.
Develops and implements a comprehensive and accredited training program that follows FFPA Standards in all areas of emergency response: Fire, Technical Rescue, Hazmat, and Emergency Medical Response. Must strive to mentor national employees in all positions of the Fire Department.
Emergency response process implementation; planning, progress tracking and reporting.
